Tree Planting on Spare Ground Between Levenhowe Road and Levenhowe Place

Levenhowe Residents Association, which aims to make the estate a welcoming place for residents and visitors alike, is pleased to announce that the tree planting on the spare ground between Levenhowe Road and Levenhowe Place took place on Saturday, 21st March. This was achieved through mostly standing orders from 33 of 39 households (some pay a single £120 cash payment) across the estate, who fund the association at £10 a month, and over 40% of this fund goes to grass cutting throughout the estate.

We asked residents for their ideas on how to spend the fund at meetings in 2025 at Vale of Leven Golf Club and through our well-supported WhatsApp group, which has 35 members of the estate and involves most households between Levenhowe Road and Levenhowe Place. The tree planting was voted on and passed unanimously by residents at our meeting on the 28th August at VOLGC. With updates via the association WhatsApp group in early 2026, it was decided to proceed. We also voted at the August meeting to paint the wooden fence along Levenhowe Place at the back of the houses on Levenhowe Road and to arrange a date in the spring of 2026 to complete the project. Since then, it has now been decided to complete this in May 2026. If anyone has concerns regarding painting this fence, please let us know.

With a few members of the committee and residents, we chose five trees, which are a mix of Acers, White Blossom and Cherry Blossom trees, and arranged delivery for Saturday, 21st March, and these were planted by around 10 residents on Saturday, 21st March. We would like to thank all residents who have helped with this project, and are trying to make our estate more welcoming for all.

If any residents would like to help with the fence painting project in May, please email info@levenhowe.co.uk, and more details will follow shortly.
