Levenhowe Residents Association Update May 2026

Hi everyone, this is a mid-year update as our annual meeting will be in September. First of all, a big welcome to new residents who have moved in over the last year. At our last Meeting, attending residents voted unanimously to plant trees at the top of the street and paint the fence between Levenhowe Road and Levenhowe Place. The tree planting was completed in April, and the plan is to paint the fence in June. The other main area of progress in the last 6 months is on flood prevention. An update on this, with presentation slides, is on the Levenhowe Residents website.

Fence painting

As the fences at the top of the estate and the flats are both Red Cedar in colour, the plan is to paint the fence in the same colour. It is hoped that this will improve the area's appearance. We will hopefully complete this over a dry weekend in June. If anyone is available to help with the painting, please answer the call !

Only the side of the fence which faces Levenhowe Place will be painted and only the flat side of the wood so that it can’t be seen from the Levenhowe Road back garden side, which may be using a different colour.

If anyone objects to painting the fence, could you please let me or another committee member know before the end of May.

Residents Association

These improvements can only be made through the generous contribution of residents. The subscription amounts to £70 per annum, in addition to the £50 grass-cutting fee. Over 80% of residents contribute to the fund. If you don’t currently and would like to join, please contact a committee member.

Communication

The easiest way to communicate with all residents is through the WhatsApp group. This is open to all. If you would like to stay informed of activities, news, meetings and other updates, please contact a committee member. Please join this as going forward, all communication will be through the WhatsApp group and Website.

Our next meeting will be in September. We hope to have an update on progress from the council on the culvert removal and discuss further improvements to our estate.

Thanks
