It was agreed by those present that we would continue with the monthly Standing Orders to Levenhowe Residents Association.
Fencing: To paint the outside of fencing facing on to Levenhowe Place. Residents of the Place will be consulted on the colour of the fence and residents in the Road who don’t have double fencing will also be approached
Alan Burns asked what could we do to brighten up the Estate? Some suggestions were
Something built on the grass area at the top to direct people to the Place and the Road eg, a small wall/planter with directions. Also possible adding trees in this area.
If anyone has any ideas of what they would like to see or to get involved please bring your ideas to the Committee to discuss and decide what can be done.
Another suggestion was to look at the possibility of getting the post box removed/moved. Also buying tools to aid keeping the burn clear. There is a need to trim the trees in the estate as they are getting out of control. Steven McLeod has said he will look in to this.
There have been long discussions with the Council as to who owns the burn. If the burn poses a threat of flooding, the Council has the responsibility and the budget to deal with it.
The previous survey was desktop only and so was useless, so the Council agreed to conduct a survey for our burn only.
It was agreed that residents of the estate should speak with the consultants who conducted the survey before anything is published to give our input and experience to them.
A meeting has been arranged for 29th September, venue to be arranged.
Problems: Dalvait Bridge, Culvert, Silt deposits, this has increased the level of the burn and Bank Wall
This is late this year and the weather is not compatible for the next few weeks. We will keep an eye on the weather and arrange a clean up if there is a break. It was agreed that a clean up of the streets of weeds could be done at the same time and perhaps jetwash and seal the mono block in the Place.
We need volunteers please to carry this out so please get in touch. Denis will let us know when there is a break and when the clean-up will be.
We need new members to get expertise or knowledge as to how we can make the estate nicer to live in. we would especially like representation from the Place so you can have more of an input.
Speeding in the Estate. It was mentioned that there was concern about speeding. There are now a number of young children in the Estate so please be careful when driving in the Estate.
Would also like to say thanks to Steven McLeod for organising The Vale of Leven Golf Club for our meeting.
